Levy Room 36, 27 Hillhouse, 432-3638 philip.levy@yale.edu with guest lectures by Professor Peter Schott SOM, 432-4260 Peter.schott@yale.edu Last updated January 10, 2003 The three course requirements will be: course participation ; a mid-term exam that will cover the theoretical part of the course; and a 15-20-page paper on an empirical, or policy-oriented trade topic. The three requirements will be equally weighted in determining a grade. There may also be problem sets for practice; these, however, will not count for the course grade. Exam dates and deadlines will be posted on this website later in the semester. Course participation will involve the extent to which students are familiar with the readings, as revealed by their participation in class discussion. Depending on necessity, students may also be asked to sign up for presentation responsibilities for sessions. The paper is intended to get students started in conducting research in international trade. Among other possibilities, it could be a critical literature survey or an empirical paper. Students should consult with the instructor before embarking on a topic. Students should also plan to describe their work in progress towards the end of the semester.

Extractions: On the morning of Saturday, February 1st, 2003, seven astronauts aboard the NASA space shuttle Columbia lost their lives as they were returning to Earth from a sixteen-day mission dedicated to the quest for scientific knowledge. They represented not only the United States of America, Israel, and India, but indeed all of humanity our greatest dreams, our most noble aspirations. The loss of the Columbia and its crew touches the lives of not just Americans, Israelis, and Indians, but in fact everyone on Earth. The exploration of space is one of the human race's oldest ambitions, one that has been reflected in our literature long before we developed the technological capability to venture forth into the cosmos. We must not allow this tragedy to bring an end to this magnificent journey, but instead let their courageous example lead us upward and outward.

MERRILL'S MARAUDERS MEDICAL DETACHMENT Bernard rogoff, MC 0357969 Capt Side Adhesive Plaster Tape, Technical Sergeant RobertJ. Scherkenbach Michael R. DiBenedetto, 31248371 Clyde E. Reever, 13092691 http://www.marauder.org/medical.htm
Extractions: This page is dedicated to the men of the Medical Detachment, the doctors, aids, technicians, and medics, all who served with honor and distinction. They were not a MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital), They had limited supplies and equipment to fight their battle against tropical diseases, fevers of unknown origins, and the wounds suffered by their fellow Marauders. Often risking their own lives to save the lives of and treat the men of Galahad, these brave men of the medical detachment were never far from the fighting and many times had to perform with a battle raging around them. They marched with the other Marauders over the most hostile battle ground ever encountered by an American armed force, suffering the same fatigue, diseases, malnutrition, wounds and death as the rest of the Marauders. It is to these brother Marauders, who's names are listed below that many of the surviving Marauders owe a debt which could never be repaid
