She is the author of two volumes of poetry, The Distress of Harvest and The Square Root of Female. Triad Moon is her first published novel. Born in Alberta of farming parents, she obtained her Bachelor of Education degree from U of A Edmonton, and has since worked in a variety of professions from teaching, community development, public relations, fundraising and arts administration. Chase is currently employed in the federal public service. As a lesbian, Chase has had to walk a fine line between speaking her truth and describing the human condition, which for all of us involves political, economic, and physical realities like aging and dying. To quote Chase, "we all must come to terms with the emotions of loss, and with the realities of change around and within our bodies. This process leads us closest to the understanding we will achieve about our emotional and spiritual lives on this side of the grave." Chase is currently seeking a publisher for Pillow in the Window , a novel about a woman who loses the custody of her children when she leaves an unsatisfying marriage, and Out of the Fire , a mystery about the dark side of Wicca, Satanic ritual abuse.
