Extractions: Butterfly isn't easy. But it doesn't have to be as much work as you think. The biggest problem for most people is breathing and recovery of the arms. You feel you have to climb out of the water for that precious air, which means you put so much effort into breathing and recovery that you have nothing left for the actions that move you forward.

Championships in nine sports, including swimming and diving (considered a single sport), were established that year. The first National Collegiate Women's Swimming and Diving Championship was hosted by the University of Florida in March of 1982. Florida won that first meet, but since then Texas and Stanford have dominated, winning 15 of the 16 team championships between 1983 and 1998.
