The Wildcats held a 1-0 lead at the first intermission. The first nine minutes of the second period were very similar to the end of the first, with both teams holding their ground defensively. Brian Yandle broke the 30-minute scoring drought with a power-play goal at 8:59. Yandle's first collegiate goal beat Traylen high clove side after a feed from Gare. Both teams had many scoring chances throughout the rest of the period, but neither team was able to capitalize. The period ended with Clarkson on a power play, but UNH was able to hold on to its 2-0 advantage.
