Rookie Pasi Nurminen came within five minutes of his first NHL shutout as the Thrashers held off the punchless Calgary Flames, 2-1, for their first home win of the season. "A very good effort by our team," Atlanta coach Curt Faser said. "We've been looking for goaltending and this kid's been delivering. He's getting the points - wins, ties." Nurminen, who posted a 2-5-0 record in nine appearances for the Thrashers last season, made 31 saves. He lost his shutout bid when Chris Clark scored with 4:48 remaining.

Mclennan Sent To Houston 29/01 The move most people expected would come came today as the Wild announced JamieMclennan has been sent to their primary development affiliate in Houston. http://saturn.lunarpages.com/~wildon1/archives/2001/09/29-mclennantohouston.html
Extractions: The move most people expected would come came today as the Wild announced Jamie Mclennan has been sent to their primary development affiliate in Houston. Mclennan, who joined the Wild in the 2000 Expansion Draft from the St. Louis Blues, served as the team's primary backup last season. In 38 games played he won five, lost 23 and tied nine times. His goals against average was a respectable 2.64 and his save percentage was 0.905. Despite the decent GAA and save percentage numbers, not to mention the fact that he was a team and fan favorite with his upbeat personality, the team never played well when Jamie was in the net, as evidenced by his poor win/loss record. The Wild often was held to two goals or less when Jamie played. Because of that, general manager Doug Risebrough signed career backup Dwayne Roloson in the offseason. Roloson makes half the money Mclennan makes and performed admirably in the preseason. Most importantly , however, the team seemed to play better in front of him.
