The Hockey Book: Peter Forsberg - Ready To Be The Best his older brother Roger and his father, Kent, to hockey rinks before of offensivedefenseman Sandis Ozolinsh, twoway forward claude lemieux, and goaltender http://pedgr571.sn.umu.se/~mill/foppa/articles/TheHockeyBookVol1No2.html
Extractions: By Dave Rosenbaum The Hockey Book First he was called the best player outside the NHL. Then he was called the best rookie in the NHL. At 22, Peter Forsberg's is ready to make the final step toward becoming the best player in the world It's easy to measure Peter Forsberg's accession through hockey's elite. Three years ago, after scoring the gold medal-winning goal for Sweden in the 1994 Olympics, Forsberg was routinely hailed as the best player outside the NHL. In 1994-95, Forsberg made his long-awaited arrival in the NHL and didn't disappoint anyone. He finished second on the Nordiques in scoring, was clearly their best player in the first-round playoff loss to the Rangers, and received his latest acclimation; the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year. Forsberg formerly the best player outside the NHL, was now the best first-year in the NHL. Forsberg's latest move up the ladder came late in the 1995-96 season in an offhand remark by ESPN commentator Bill Clement, who was discussing the Western Conference's candidates for the Hart Trophy. Forsberg, Clement decided, was the best two-way player in the NHL. There's only one step step remaining for Forsberg: to become the best player in the NHL. At the current rate, it's only a matter of time.

Feature Articles Lord Stanley of Preston - by Keith Lenn Occasionally the single act of a person, however trivial or insignificant that act may seem at the time, has a profound effect on the future, be it in politics, the arts, literature, or even in the world of sports. When Lord Stanley of Preston, the sixth Governor General of Canada and an advocate of close ties between Britain and its colonies, jotted down a message for Lord Kilcoursie, Lord Stanley's aide and a member of Ottawa's Rideau Rebels hockey team, to read at a celebratory dinner held on March 18, 1892 for the Ottawa Amateur Athletic Association, a new chapter in sports history was begun.
