Extractions: File photo The Ferraro twins resume their dream of playing together in the NHL as they sign one-year contracts with the Capitals. The Ferraro twins will once again be reunited on the ice this season. The Washington Capitals signed brothers Chris and Peter this week to one-year contracts. It was a significant occasion for Chris, who did not play beyond October last season to be with wife Jennifer during her battle with stomach cancer. Peter played the season in Portland, but his mind was often with his family. "This is just kind of like a do-over," said Chris. "The plan is to try and get back to our lives, which involves me playing hockey and her getting healthy, starting over." The Ferraros played one season at the University of Maine in the 1993 championship season. They have spent the last 10 years splitting time between the AHL and NHL. They were signed last summer to provide depth for the Capitals and become marquee players for the Pirates.
