Extractions: Jan. 13, 2003 Senior defenseman Damien Davis and junior attackman Ryan Boyle were named to Inside Lacrosse magazine's preseason first-team All-America team. Both players were second-team All-Americas a year ago. Princeton seniors Brad Dumont (midfield) and Sean Hartofilis (attack) were named second-team selections. Dumont, like Davis and Boyle, was a second-team pick last spring. Princeton also had one third-team selection, senior midfielder Owen Daly , and one honorable mention selection, senior midfielder Josh White The Tigers were also ranked second in the magazine's preseason coaches' poll behind Syracuse. Princeton and Syracuse have met in each of the last three NCAA championship games, including last Memorial Day when the Orangemen won 13-12. Princeton returns seven starters from a year ago, including Davis, who has started every game of his career, and Boyle, who was a member of the U.S. national team that won the world championship in Austraila this past summer. Princeton, the winner of six NCAA titles in the last 11 years and eight straight Ivy League titles, opens its season March 1 at home against Johns Hopkins.
