I loved the book.Even though I'm 15, I bought the book because I have always admired Scottie Pippen.After reading the book, I feel like I know this player, and I like him even more.He's told many stories that youdon't expect to hear from a hotshot basketball player in this book, whichis why it's so special.He shared the tough stuff he went through, and yourespect him more.This book is one of the most cherished books of mine!

A great gift for kids
Greg Brown has created a wonderful series of books with various athletes. These aren't empty ego trips, they are quality stories with valuable lessons on sportsmanship and responsibility. We have bought several for ourgrandson, and the special bonus has been that since his Dad is a sports fanas well, he enjoys reading them to him. Schnakenberg makes learning fun!
My daughter and I read together regularly.She, like myself is a Bulls'fan.We both missed Scottie during his absence from the sport in the 97-98season after being injured.I was not surprised when she brought this bookhome for a book report.To my delight, I found that Mr. Schnakenbergwrites for children without talking down to them.While she learned moreabout her favorite basketball player, I found the author engaging andinsightful.I know how Scottie plays.After reading Mr. Schnakenberg'sbook, I now feel I know WHO Scottie IS.I'll be looking for moreSchnakenberg.I suggest other parents do the same!

Patrick Pippen has written a memoir of sorts, no small feat for a guy who is still in his twenties!
Patrick is the nephew of one of professional basketball's most exciting players: Scottie Pippen. (Recently retired from the Chicago Bulls and Portland Trailblazers.) But the book is not just one of those stylized "tell all" tomes that seem to be required nowadays when some sports superstar retires.
Instead, the books tells a fascinating account of young Patrick's life: from growing up on the mean streets of the Bronx to the jetsetter lifestyles of professional sports.
The book deals with all things basketball, from its link to the ancient Aztecs to wheelchair basketball and the hustle of streetball. Toss in a stint in the Marine Corps and travels to exotic places like Japan and rural America and you've got quite a ride!
