Included in this collection are over 60 satiric pieces on the sports issues and personalities of the day, including stories on A-Rod, Michael Phelps, Lance Armstrong, Manny Ramirez, Tonya Harding, Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, and a host of other headline superstars with ego and agents. With rapier wit and unrelenting parody, the quick barbs of Russo skewer some of the worst foibles and deplorable venalities of the modern athlete. Drawing on Shakespeare, Dickens, Aesop, Longfellow, and Swift, these nasty essays are not your usual sports page items or tabloid tidbits, but they are arsenic filled cookies. ... Read more
