Extractions: Cue is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and has been trailed by the Raiders for the past three weeks since the Kenyon Glover work permit application was refused. This time there has been no slip up and Cue's permit is already with the club with the player due to fly into the country in advance of Saturday's home National Trophy match against Team Bath Romans. Cue is a 6'5", 215lbs Guard or Forward who started 24 of the University's 31 games in his last season with them, many of them as a guard. He was known originally as an offensive star but blossomed into a defensive stopper for the Knights over his career. His college coach, Kirk Speraw, rates Cue as " A tremendous open-court performer, athletic and creates a mismatch versus opponents due to his ability to score from the perimeter and also to post up smaller defenders."

Desktop SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER Last week at the Masters, all of those familiar faces were there. We watched them on TV and recognized their mannerisms and expressions. But they were the touring golf professionals. What about the other pros, the ones who make up the local sports scene? What are they like on the golf course? How do they act? How is their game? Does it fit their personality? Through idle meandering, we wondered. Many of them play the game, some don't. This is how we picture them to be: Brings his own cooler and sixer of Coors Light to the course. Rides in a cart and never walks. Throws visor and kicks sand out of bunkers when he muffs a shot. Extractions: Fame is a fleeting thing that seems to swallow us up and spit us out. We like to think it is the other way around. Some celebrities shun fame, but most try to soak the glory up for all it is worth. The fame and glory don't last forever. The old Andy Warhol saying, "Everybody is famous for 15 minutes" shows that fame can be a fleeting thing. Star Columnist I don't know if I have had my 15 minutes yet, but what about those who have? How does the fleeting fame affect those who are used to having fame? How do they handle their loss of stature? So many people in the spotlight equate their own personal identity with their fame. So, when their fame is lost, their identity is also lost. Many people who are in the spotlight serve as role models for children. Today, I think kids look up to sports figures more than anything else. They are easy to identify with because most kids play sports. A political figure is hard for a kid to identify with because politics are so distant from a child's mind. Since sports heroes have an impact on our children as role models, it is interesting to see how sports heroes handle fleeting fame. When I was a kid, one of my heroes was Houston Astros pitcher J. R. Richard. I thought there was nothing that he couldn't do with a baseball. When he was on the mound, he seemed invincible and, for many athletes and fans, that invincibility transcends into all areas of life. Then, at the height of his powers, Richard had a stroke, poetically enough, on the pitcher's mound. He disappeared from professional baseball, but I always wondered what happened to my boyhood hero and where he went.
