If I were in charge, I d make sure I d never have to wait for another thing ever again. For every kid who has wondered, Why do I have to wait? here s a humorous story that shows why every moment of life is important. After Jimmy rearranges time to suit himself, he learns that God has a plan for our lives that includes the good times as well as the bad times & the in-between times. 5-0 out of 5 stars Basball for Breakfast
Jimmy hated to wait. He did not think that waiting was fair. His mother told him that it was good to wait and learn patience. Jimmy thought about what his mother said until he fell asleep. On his way to school the next morning he found a very strange watch. He discovered that when he moved the minute hand forward it would skip time. When Jimmy got to his class his teacher was taking role so he moved the minute hand forward a little bit and the recess bell started ringing. After recess jimmy was hungry so he turned the watch hand forward and it was time for lunch. After lunch jimmy moved the hand forward thee more hours, and he was running to baseball practice.Jimmy did not have to wait for anything, but after skipping so many meals, eating too much dessert, and not taking baths he became weak and people called him "rotten egg". Jimmy had skipped all the rainy days to have a sunny day so there was a big drought. Pretty soon they would have no food. His mother told him that eating his vegetables made him strong, and that skipping rainy days made it so that they would have no water. His mother told him to break the watch and not skip another moment. It was a hard decision but finally Jimmy threw the watch on the side walk and it broke into a thousand pieces. When jimmy woke up he looked out the window as it started to rain. He wondered if baseball practice would be canceled but it really did not matter.

5-0 out of 5 stars PATIENCE!PATIENCE! PATIENCE!
Baseball for Breakfast is a delightful book for kids, especially those who hate to wait. The book shows it's readers what can happen when you don't take time for all things in life and how that thinking only of yourself can be disastrous.A wonderful book to show that each moment is important andthat patience is truly a virture! ... Excerpt: As Player As Manager As General Manager Wesley Branch Rickey (December 20, 1881 December 9, 1965) was an innovative Major League Baseball executive elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967. He was known for breaking Major League Baseball's color barrier by signing African American player Jackie Robinson, for drafting the first Hispanic/Black Hispanic superstar, Roberto Clemente, for creating the framework for the modern minor league farm system, and for introducing the batting helmet. Rickey's many achievements and deep Christian faith earned him the nickname "the Mahtm." Rickey was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, USA, the son of Jacob Frank Rickey and Emily Brown Rickey. He was a catcher on the baseball team at Ohio Wesleyan University and, in 1903, signed a contract with Terre Haute, Indiana of the Class B Central League, making his professional debut on June 20. Rickey was assigned to Le Mars, Iowa of the Class D Iowa-South Dakota League. Later, he spent two seasons in the major leagues, debuting as a St. Louis Brown in 1905. Sold to the New York Highlanders in 1907, Rickey could neither hit nor field while with the club, and his batting average dropped below .200. One opposing team stole 13 bases while Rickey was behind the plate, setting a record which still stands a century later. Rickey also injured his throwing arm and retired as a player after just one year. (During this period, Rickey also spent two seasons1904 an...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=426353 ... Read more
