A kinder and gentler time
If you get tired of being assaulted by pr0fanity on the streets, on the TV, in movies and in literature, you might just enjoy this series.Yes it was originally written for younger readers, but it takes us back to a time in history when men were manly and women ladylike.It was anything but a perfect time from our perspective, there is comman acceptance of racial stereotypes, but that was the way it was.The language, the story, the hero is all good clean fun.I wish I could find more in this series.The author, Lester CHadwick, is a pen name for Howard Roger Garis who wrote the Tom Swift series, the Bobbisie Twins series and others.It's good stuff that won't keep you up at night.Enjoy. ... Phillies Phabulous
The books I purchased were wonderful and I saved an enormous amount of money. This same book is selling at the stadium for over $50. If you are a Phillies fan, this book is a must have.

Good for the Coffee Table
This is one of the best books on the Phillies I have ever seen.I own probably 5 or 6 others on the subject but this one covers it all.

I bought this book for both my mother-in-law and cousin, both die-hard Phillies fans.They love it.Not only are there interesting stories inside, but the book is also packed with mementos through the years.It was fun for me to look through as well.
