A Jeter fan review
I think this book is ok, I am a really huge Yankee fan, especially Derek Jeter fan. I read this book to try to get more information to tell other people, because I write about the New York Yankees especially Derek Jeter.I thought this book had great pictures, and I also thought that this bookcontained no new information for me.

Horn book called it, "well-written".I call it PURE GOLD.It's not often a "GI" on deployment has the opportunity to take a few minutes off patorol and relax with a good read.Sure, it's no "Warand Peace", but for a few minutes, it gave me a smile on my face and asunny disposition in the Kosovo cold.

Surefire Shortstop, A Book For New Jeter Fans!
I am a huge Derek Jeter fan. I have my own newsletter, called sHoRtStOp2 and I think this book which I just read is a good book for a new Derek Jeter fan. I already knew all the information. The cool thing about thisbook is that it has a lots of cool Derek Jeter pictures!

I would have given it less then 1 star if I could have!
I am a huge fan of Derek Jeter, but unless you, or the teeny bopper in your family are desperate for some re-hashed stuff about Jeter (gee-tuhr, as they so lovely sounded out for you in the book), I would suggest notpurchasing this book. And if you have a small baseball fan in the house Iwould still say pass, it would insult their intelligence. He is a greatball player he desereves a great story. Even though he is only in histwenties he still deserves a better bio.

Nice pictures
This book is full of pictures and stories that are interesting; stories about his signing out of high school; pictures and highlights of outstanding plays in his years with the Yankees who have won three series since he arrived.

Not real informative.
For the first time since reviewing books from Sports Publishing Inc. I was disappointed with the overall writing of a book. This book is a compilation of pictures and quotes of a rising superstar in the world of Major Leaguebaseball.

While the book is filled with dozens of photos and some of thechapters are interesting, for the most part the book lacks any real storyline. The book does not talk about the career of Derek Jeter nor theauthors examine Jeter in comparison with other great shortstops of thepast.

The book would make a great gift to a true New York Yankee fan buttrue baseball purists will find this book sorely lacking any real value.The price is $24.95 and for the money you get very little.

Overall youcould and can spend your dollars more wisely on other baseball or sportsbooks. Sports Publishing has a great website and if you spend a few minutesthere you will find a whole host of sports treasures. ... Read more

A Fine Player and an Upright Individual
I purchased this book for my daughter several years ago. She got the Jeter bug! I was impressed by this book and impressed by Derek Jeter, the man. He seems to be a genuinely good person on and off the field. His personal life and approach to the game is an example for what all ball players should strive for. He brings the finest qualities out in the game of baseball by his approach to the game. He is not flashy and does not draw attention to himself other than through his fine play on the field. I was impressed.

Great Photos
This book has great photos that are large and detailed (not a waste of space like some other books). They show a wide variety of situations, so if you are looking for particular things like I was (e.g., bat grip), it is very handy.

The text is gathered from Derek's peers and provides a great glimpse of what being around him must be like. Great book, especially for kids or older fanatics!

I think that Derek Jeter is very good for little kids to look up to becuase he is a base ball player and that is one great job.You get to build your body more and more when your playing base ball its just great.
