Extractions: Eduardo Perez - The Beginning I first became interested in baseball in 1975 when the Cincinnati Reds were on the road to winning the World Series. Their first baseman at that time was Tony Perez. I was a huge fan of Tony's all through his career which lasted to 1986. Soon after that I heard that Tony's son Eduardo was a ballplayer too...playing for the Florida State baseball team. Eduardo played for FSU 1989-91 and was named to the All-American team in 1991. He was a first round draft choice in 1991 for the California Angels, played 2 1/2 years in the minors and then worked his way up to the big leagues. He played for the Angels and the Reds, and then with the Cardinals organization (which was especially great for me, since I live in St Louis!!!). Eduardo is now entering a new phase of his career, as he will be playing baseball in Japan this year! It has been so wonderful for me as a baseball fan to have followed Tony's career, and now to have the joy of following Eduardo's career. I see so much of Tony in Eduardo, and it warms my heart to see baseball tradition living on in this family. Eduardo Perez - Family Eduardo Atanasio Perez born: September 11, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio
