Extractions: Sports Editor After having the same football coach for 23 straight seasons from 1975-97, Harrodsburg will go into the 2003 season with its fifth coach in seven years. "It's not good for the program when you have all that instability," said Alvis Johnson, Harrodsburg's coach from 1975-97. "You can't expect kids to develop loyalty to the program if you keep changing coaches." Enter Baldridge. He was the had coach at Harrodsburg before Johnson took over in 1975. He had been a college head coach and had tons of experience. He was ready to spend his final years coaching at Harrodsburg and building a successful program. The Pioneers went 8-4 his first year, but stumbled to a 3-7 finish last season. "One of the quickest ways to destroy a program is to have to keep changing coaches every few years," Johnson said.
