Extractions: Rangers ensured they would be at the top of the table in the new year with a hard-fought victory over Kilmarnock. Peter Lovenkrands scored the crucial goal midway through the first half after a defence-splitting pass by Ronald de Boer. Gary McSwegan hit the bar in Killie's best effort of the game and although Rangers wasted a number of opportunities to seal the points, their win was well deserved. The opening stages saw Rangers dominate possession, but it was 13 minutes before they had their first effort on target - a Shota Arveladze header that Gordon Marshall held comfortably. It was uncomfortable at times - we couldn't put Kilmarnock away

EZM Football Coverage - Features By: Jim Williams The World According to Williams by jim Williams. offense in the NFL with Kurt Warner, marshall Faulk, and away one of the most under rated QBs in football. http://www.endzonemarketing.com/football_jim_nfc.html
Extractions: by: Jim Williams NFC Preview The biggest question in the NFC this year is: "Are the St. Louis Rams for real?" Last year they came out of nowhere and went through the conference like Sherman went through Atlanta. Unlike Sherman, they didn't stop there. They went on to plunder every major city in the NFC who appeared on their schedule. They made the Vikings look like choir boys. Was it a fluke? The proof is in the pudding and a first place schedule. This year we will learn IF Kurt Warner is a rock solid QB. Can Mike Martz run Vermeil's wide open offense by himself? Their conference won't be so easy this time around, Atlanta, Carolina, and even New Orleans have improved. We shall soon see. Let's take a look at each conference. In the anything could happen department, provided they can get it all together, Carolina could win the division. They have a great many question marks on defense with the biggest interrogatives being Reggie White and Eric Swann. Both saw little playing time last year. IF they can contribute then Carolina will be good. On the offensive side of the ball, QB Steve Beuerlein is far and away one of the most under rated QBs in football. Look for Beuerlein to do well. The running game is solid and features Tim Biakabutuka and Natrone Means who will get the job done. That gives the Panthers balance. The key is, can George Seifert the defensive wizard, get an old defense to play well enough to get Carolina to the playoffs? We say he can and Carolina should be 9-7 or 10-6 by season end and that should be good enough to make it.
