Extractions: 58.5 percentage It's now official- Dave Krieg retired during a ceremony Saturday in Cheney, Washington. He still wanted to play another year but cited a lack of interest from teams as his reason for calling it a wrap. He also got to retire as a Seahawk, as he'll always be remembered, proudly displaying his #17 jersey to those in attendance. My heartfelt thanks goes out to the entire Seahawks orginization for allowing this great athlete to end his career where it all began, and in such a dignified way. He went undrafted, went on an airplane for the first time to attend the Hawks camp, wasn't expected to last around long, yet he found a way to be the Seahawks greatest QB of all-time and one of the best players to ever grace an NFL game. He's a one of a kind class act. I wish him all the best with the rest of his life.

Extractions: Ahhh...the good old days!!! How many times did we hear: "Krieg to Largent.....T-O-U-C-H-D-O-W-N !!!!" I couldn't help but get excited when there was talk that Dave Krieg might come back to the Seahawks for the 1997 season! All the memories came flooding back, and believe me, there are many GREAT memories to recall! How sweet it would have been to see him wearing the Silver, Blue and Green of the Seahawks again... And then to be tempted again in 1999, when Dave showed interests in returning home. Home! Doesn't that sound good?! He has since announced his retirement from the NFL, but some day we'll be able to welcome him back ... to our Ring of Honor! Until that time that he takes his rightful place, we invite you to join us in the celebration of our beloved former Seahawks Quarterback, Dave Krieg.

Extractions: By John Clayton After reuniting the Blades brother on the football field, the Seattle Seahawks turned nostalgic in their final push to land an experienced backup quarterback. Former Seahawk Dave Krieg returns to team headquarters today while the front office awaits word on whether Warren Moon will accept their two-year contract offer. With Boomer Esiason also a consideration in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals, the Seahawks should know as early as Friday who will back up John Friesz next season. Like Moon, Krieg is eager to return to Seattle where he still owns a home, though his spends his winters in Phoenix. "The Seahawks seem very interested in figuring out their quarterback situation, and Dave is looking forward to flying up there," said Kevin Swan, one of Krieg's agents. "There is a real positive feel to all of this. I think things could move very quickly." Moon stayed in Southern California on Wednesday while negotiations started with the Seahawks and the San Diego Chargers. Each team is talking about two-year contracts that would pay him around $1 million this year and could count against the cap at less than $700.000

Seattle Seahawks Legends Page - Dave Krieg I have lived in Denver throughout the whole John Elway era but have alwaysfavored the adorable dave krieg to any other football player out there. http://www.beckys-place.com/kriegandfans.html
Extractions: I grew up in Oregon, and was a Packer's fan as a kid, because of Bart Starr. I moved to Southern California in 1970, and went to high school there. At that time I was a Raiders fan until John Madden retired, and they traded Kenny Stabler for Dan Pastorini. About that time I discovered the Seahawks, when Jack Patera made the games fun to watch! I remember the early games with Jim Zorn throwing to Steve Largent. Then when Dave Kreig walked on and took over the starting job under Chuck Knox, I was a fan for life. Keep up the great work on your site It was the Dave Krieg to Paul Skansi touchdown at Arrowhead Stadium in 1990 that made me a football fan. Im not trying to be dramatic. Im just being truthful. I never watched football before, and it was just a fluke that I watched that game. I have been a diehard Seahawks fan ever since. While were at it lets put Paul Skansi in the ring of honor too. Just kidding.

Gilbert goes on to say, "We've got a good friendship, a real good friendship. In fact he's my best friend on the team. It's hard because I think people hold it against him because he's the one who replaced Jim Zorn and he set such a high standard for the Seahawks when they went 12-4 and he was their leader and he's going to have to live up to that.
