Extractions: AP TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Seven-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Lomas Brown agreed to terms Thursday on a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the fifth team he's played for in 18 NFL seasons. Brown, 39, was released by the New York Giants in February for salary cap reasons. With the Bucs, he'll compete with second-year pro Kenyatta Walker for the starting left tackle job. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Brown was the sixth overall pick in the 1985 draft. He spent his first 11 seasons with the Detroit Lions, then played three with the Arizona Cardinals and one with the Cleveland Browns. Brown started 32 games over the past two years for the Giants, helping New York to the Super Bowl during the 2000 season. In all, he's started 251 of the 252 games he's played. The Bucs also signed tight end Todd Yoder, who was an exclusive rights free agent, and kicker Rob Hart, a British native who has played for NFL Europe's Scottish Claymores the past four seasons. Both received one-year deals.

Parker said, "Lets face it, from the time you are a kid growing up, second place is not good enough. Its not a bad thing. Losing (a Super Bowl) does not define my life or career, but you want to win. Thats what its all about. Obviously for a few months you are pretty down and youre upset." "Our main thing was not to jump offside," recalled Parker. "Everything was watch the ball, keep your head ready, watch the ball and just protect. As it was kicked I keep saying, Hook! Hook! Hook. It didnt happen. It had hooked all year, and it didnt happen that time. Its a bitter pill." "I dont mess with Glenn about that game," said Cross. "I like to keep our friendship. If I do, he wont talk to me anymore."

LBF Charity Awareness For Epilepsy, Press Releases TV; ice cream treats; portraits of sports celebrities and football jerseys for LomasBrown, NFLers Remember Their Fellow Player To raise awareness of epilepsy http://www.lbf.org/about/press_releases/01232001_golf.html
Extractions: Although epilepsy afflicts people of all ages, children are especially affected because the unpredictability of seizures has a negative impact on sociological and psychological development. In the U.S., epilepsy affects more than 2.5 million people and is responsible for 42,000 deaths per year, the majority of which are children. To raise awareness of epilepsy and to help the foundation mobilize much-needed resources for epilepsy research, the LBF has drafted a host of active and retired NFL players, including Tony Dorsett, Bill Maas, Isaac Curtis, William Andrews, Ray Buccanon, Willie Anderson and Superbowl-bound Lomas Brown, offensive tackle for the New York Giants.
