book by it's cover
The black and white illustrations are nice but it lacks detailed descriptions. A few will have some color descriptions but majority only say where it is found.
A few tiles that he identifies as Italian is Spanish and Arabic.
What surprised me was the insertion between pages 34 and 35 of Sir Francis Bacon's 68 paged "The New Atlantis" a fictional utopia story.
What the ceramic and Bacon's work have in common has eluded me.
