Paradoxically, although it was during Victorian times that fantasy and fairy tales became firmly associated with childhood, it was also a time when adult interest in the subject could not have been higher. It is clear that it is time to open whatever distinction there is in the title of RA to the modern woman artists, and it could not be better done than by the admission of Henrietta Rae.
